Dark Mofo / Winter Feast (Hobart)

Dark Mofo is an avant-garde winter arts festival organized by the Museum of Old and New Art (MONA) and held in mid-June in Hobart, Tasmania. It celebrates the winter solstice with a focus on darkness, the macabre, and the mysterious. The event is known for its provocative and immersive experiences, such as the famous "Dark Park" where visitors encounter interactive light displays and performances. Winter Feast is a culinary celebration that coincides with Dark Mofo, typically held over a few days in a large venue such as Hobart's waterfront. While Dark Mofo explores the arts and cultural aspects of winter, Winter Feast complements it by offering a sensory celebration of Tasmania's food and drink scene.

Together, these events draw locals and visitors alike, transforming Hobart into a hub of creativity and culinary delight during the winter months.

Each year I photograph key scenes in a “street photography style” to provide my unique view to these highly photographed events.
